"Uongo" Ruto's CS Forced To Cut Speech Short As Crowd Chants At Him While Speaking In Murang'a

Trade Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui faced a hostile reception in Murang’a County after a crowd loudly challenged his remarks on a proposed industrial park in the region.

The incident happened during a public engagement where the CS was outlining the government’s plan to expand industrial development across the country.

As he spoke about Murang’a being considered for an industrial park, sections of the crowd reacted angrily and disrupted the meeting.

The chants grew louder, forcing a brief pause in the programme. Security officers moved closer to the podium as tension rose, while event organizers tried to calm the situation.

The disruption reflected growing frustration among residents who appeared unconvinced by the government’s development promises.

Many locals have expressed concern that similar pledges made in the past have not been fulfilled. Others believe that development projects are often announced without proper consultation or clear timelines, leading to public mistrust.

Despite the disruption, the CS continued with his address after order was restored. He emphasized that the government is committed to spreading industrial growth beyond major towns and ensuring counties benefit from manufacturing and job creation.
