Wamuchomba Reveals That Gachagua Has Bought Bullets And Teargas Like His Bulletproof Gear

Githunguri Member of Parliament has ignited a political firestorm by accusing former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of procuring teargas canisters and bullets from the same supplier who provided his personal bulletproof jacket and helmet.

The public allegation, made at a recent gathering, casts a shadow over the acquisition and intended use of the equipment.

The MP framed the claim as a grave issue of public accountability.

“If the bullets and teargas came from the same place as his personal protective gear, it raises serious questions about accountability and the safety of the public,” he stated, implicitly suggesting potential misuse of the crowd-control items.

The accusation has rapidly gained traction, drawing sharp analysis from political commentators who warn it taps into deep-seated concerns about security sector oversight and the influence of high-ranking officials.

Critics and civil society groups are jointly urging for an immediate and transparent investigation to verify the supply chain, emphasizing the necessity for strict oversight whenever public figures are linked to weapons or security apparatus.

As of now, Rigathi Gachagua has not issued any public response to the allegations. The silence from his camp is fueling further speculation.

Security experts have cautioned that linking a prominent political figure directly to the procurement of bullets and teargas is profoundly sensitive.

They warn it could inflame political tensions, especially with the country’s political climate already charged in the run-up to the next electoral cycle.

The unfolding controversy underscores the fragile balance between personal security for officials and the imperative for public accountability.
