SHA Issues New Directives to Healthcare Providers

The Social Health Authority (SHA) has issued fresh instructions for healthcare providers following the completion of the first batch of facility record and contract reviews.

The authority confirmed that it has cross-checked facility licensing records with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) and verified the applicable Kenya Essential Package for Health (KEPH) Level for each facility.

Providers are required to amend their contracts to match their verified status. Those who have done so have already been cleared.

SHA also announced that claims submitted during the contract amendment period have been reviewed. Validated claims will be paid by Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Healthcare providers seeking support or wanting to access the list of cleared facilities can contact SHA via email at providermanagement@sha.go.ke, through their county office managers, or the toll-free line 0800 720 601.

This update follows previous SHA communications, including a November 25, 2025 notice inviting all contracted Health Care Providers (HCPs) to log in to the SHA e-contracting platform to sign the Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund (POMSF) addendum. SHA also recently warned providers about fraudulent payment requests circulating in the name of the POMSF addendum, clarifying that no fees are required for signing or processing the document.

SHA emphasized that providers should remain vigilant against scams and ensure that contracts are updated to reflect their verified facility status.
